Chinese tallow story map

March 15th, 2020

Chinese tallow tree (Triadica sebifera) is a short-lived, fast growing tree native to eastern Asia that has become naturalized through the southeastern U.S. Chinese tallow grows rapidly and is resistant to many pests, and quickly dominates sites. This species tolerates a wide range of environmental conditions and spreads rapidly by producing abundant seeds that are spread by birds and may lay dormant in the soil for up to five years before germinating.

This story map by the Texas A&M Forest Service is a great resource (interactive, gorgeous images) that provides everything you need to know about this invasive tree. Click the link and see for yourself!
